It’s January 2023 and living consciously is the vibe. Crafting a lifestyle that is ultimately more nourishing and organic is the way forward. Slow living is drifting in as the mass production and working 24/7 is being promptly pushed out.
We are considering our mental health, lifestyle and working values more - forgetting the days of over buying, neglecting ourselves and working without integrity.
The basics to small introductions to how you live a more conscious lifestyle, they’re small but food for thought on developing more friendly lifestyle habits over the year to come:
Turn off the lights! With the latest energy crisis this is a no brainer, before you leave for work or go to bed - make sure you go round switching anything that can be left off, off! Your energy bill will thank you for this regardless of your eco friendly ways.
Conserve the water. In todays world it’s such an easy access for some of us but do we appreciate it as a result? And do we value how much we use? Probably not… remember to not leave the taps running when unnecessary.
Be more mindful over what you buy and throw out, opt for brands that give back to the world and go for refills when buying things like cleaning products. Think less plastic and less fast fashion. More organic and sustainable. And more Reve De Rive in your wardrobe couldn’t hurt!
Less food wastage. For some of us this comes naturally but you’ll be surprised at how many people are throwing away food daily. Think of clever ways to store unwanted food and ultimately, if you’re cooking too much every night - simply reduce or freeze away in another container for another meal in the week.
Ultimately, buying cheaply might seem better for your bank account in the moment but in-fact we should all be considering buying quality. Things to last and buying more from companies that aren’t mass producing in factories.
If you're buying new, look for eco-friendly brands that use sustainable materials and recycle. Living more consciously is crafting a better lifestyle for yourself and those around you. You’re filling your life with a nourishing and more fulfilling sense of purpose.
At Reve De Rive swimwear, we stand by that notion and want to provide you with swimwear that stands by your attitudes to living. After all, the word could do with a little more care and love…

Get creative with DIY projects
Often messy yes but is it fun? Sure is! Get searching on your favourite socials for some projects that inspire you and you know that your kids will love. If you love the activities too, even better as kids love it when mum gets stuck in having fun too. Our personal favourite, is making anything from old packaging or clothing - teaching them to recycle whilst having fun!
Exploring with a healthy dose of vitamin D
Get them outside as much as they can whilst the weather is beautiful. This doesn’t just mean exercising, although long bike rides can be perfect too.
There’s plenty of ways to keep them outdoors like:
Planting and looking after the garden - if this isn’t an option for your family, have a look online for lots of local communities that offer these types of options. There’s plenty out there in every area, especially for kids!
Plan scavenger hunts and have them searching outside for hours having plenty of fun!
Have a backyard campout and watch a movie in a tent or homemade fort. Plan a full evening of it and make s’mores and a bonfire if you’re able.
Set up a mini paddling pool and pop them into their Mini Me Reve De Rive swimwear sets, with lots of sunscreen. This alone will keep them entertained for hours!
Mind-strengthening activities:
Your kids won’t even realise they are keeping their brains sharp while engaging in these projects.
Create a mood board using items from around the house, tell them to combine all the images from old magazines etc.
Set up mini journals and everyday of summer they have to write what they’re grateful for that day.
Spend the afternoon volunteering. Show them how to give back to the world from a young age. Let your kids pick an organisation they’d like to learn more about and make a plan to volunteer there (or get involved however you can) at least once a month through the summer. You’ll end up finding you want to do this as a regular thing year in, year out!
Whatever you all get up to this summer, make sure you all relax and don’t stress too much if they’re entertained. Children can easily have fun from simple little activities! Don’t forget to stock up on our ‘Mini Me’ range too so you can have the most adorable mummy and me moments all summer long!

Nous arrivons à la fin de notre petit road trip. Nous reviendrons très vite pour découvrir avec vous d'autres merveilleux endroits

Keeping your makeup look light, minimalistic, and glowy. Ultimately, sometimes more is less. We have curated a makeup routine that is sure to keep you looking fresh and put together all summer long.
This routine will have you out the door in five minutes! Please note that all of the products that will be mentioned are cruelty free, which is very important to us.
The first thing you want to start with is your complexion. In order to keep your makeup in place all day, you are going to want to use a primer. We love this new Pro Filt’r Mattifying Primer by Fenty Beauty. It will keep your makeup in place all day and create a smooth canvas for your skin.
To even out your complexion, we have been using this CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ by It Cosmetics. We love this product because it gives just the right amount of coverage, while being lightweight and also protecting your skin from the sun.
The best way, in our opinion, to apply and blend out your CC cream is to use a beauty sponge like this one by BEAUTYBLENDER.
An important tip is to soak the sponge in water and wring it out before use. This will ensure a seamless blending. After applying our CC cream, we love adding a touch of cream bronzer, like this Matte Bronzer by MILK MAKEUP.
Now, let's talk eyes. Our favorite easy look is to use a fun cream eyeshadow and some waterproof mascara. This Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Eyeshadow by Charlotte Tilbury in the shade Jean is a must.
It adds a nice shimmer to the eyelids and truly makes it seem like you spent a lot of time doing your eye look. Waterproof mascara is the key to long days at the beach.
This Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara by Too Faced is a cult favorite, and for good reason! It keeps your eyelashes long and voluminous throughout long days and nights.
Finally, the finishing touches. Our must have finishing steps include an eyebrow gel, setting spray and a nice juicy lip gloss! The eyebrow gel that we keep going back to using time and time again is the Boy Brow by Glossier.
To set everything in place and keep you glowing throughout the day, we love using this Luminous Dewy Skin Mist by Tatcha. This instantly gives you the glow that is, dare we say, magical. To finish off your look, lip gloss is a must -- especially during the summer. One of our favorites is this Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer by Fenty Beauty.
This lip gloss seriously looks good on every skin tone and keeps your lips looking incredible. If you’re looking for some more definition in your lips, you could use some lip liner before applying your lip gloss.
We love this Poutliner Longwear Lip Liner Pencil by Marc Jacobs Beauty. And just like that, you are done within 5 minutes! Again, all of these products mentioned are cruelty-free which keeps both us and animals happy!

]]>In the heat of the summer, hydration is more important than ever. Whether you are taking in the sun on the beach or even driving to work, it becomes increasingly easy to become dehydrated in the heat.
A lack of water can cause many undesirable symptoms such as dehydration, dry eyes and lips, headaches, and dry skin.
There are many ways to stay hydrated whether that be traditionally drinking water, snacking on fruits, or drinking juices. The benefits of staying hydrated are endless and should not be ignored. It is vital to your holistic health and we encourage it wholeheartedly.
Drinking water is the #1 way to stay hydrated. The recommended water intake per day is 8 cups, however, it varies based on your activity level and age.
One tip that makes a difference in how we feel in the morning is to drink two cups of ice water. This wakes you up and may help boost your metabolism. An easy way to drink more water is to try flavored water such as this Hint Peach Water.
Another thing that you can incorporate into your routine is to opt for a tea instead of your usual coffee. We love this Yogi Super Antioxidant Green Tea because it gives us energy without dehydrating us. Plus, each tea bag includes an inspirational quote on them which is sure to brighten your day.
Tired of drinking plain water all day? Well, lucky for you, you can stay hydrated by snacking on fruits that have a high water content!
These fruits include watermelon, grapefruit, cucumbers, and oranges. A fun way to incorporate fruit into your diet is to make a nice fruit salad. One of our favorites is this mint, watermelon, cucumber, and feta cheese salad. This is a delicious and refreshing option for the summer.
Fruits are a healthy snack that can satisfy your sweet tooth as well. Not only do fruits provide hydration, they also nourish your body with valuable nutrients and fiber. After a long day at the beach or at the pool, these particular fruits can be super refreshing and just what you need.
To spice up our fruit, we love adding some Tajin seasoning, which adds a lime and chile flavoring.
The secret to glowing, youthful, and plump skin? No, we are not talking about that new night cream from Sephora that you have had your eye on.
One of the biggest secrets to beautiful skin is to drink TONS of water. As much as skin care is important, what you are putting into your body should not be neglected. Keeping the inside of your body hydrated keeps your skin hydrated.
Water not only hydrates, but it also detoxes which helps keep your skin clear. After drinking eight cups of water regularly, many people notice a radiant glow. Your inner health shines through on the outside and hydration is no exception.

Braids
Braids have been a traditional go-to beach style for a while now – and it’s easy to see why. They’re stylish, pretty and versatile – as they can be worn a number of ways. Whether you opt for playful pigtails or an elegant fishtail, braids ensure your locks are kept safely secured to prevent breakage. They also offer a great opportunity to nourish hair ready to wash and go later on. Simply slick on some natural oil or a creamy hair mask, braid, leave in all day then wash out when the sun sets.
Hair scarf
The ultimate in protective style – covering your hair with a beautiful scarf is an easy way to prevent sun damage and dryness from salt and sand. Scarfs can be wrapped in a variety of different ways – so they’re super versatile and always in vogue. Turban, wrap, bow – simply wear it your way! You can even switch it up each day. Choose jersey, satin or silk fabric to avoid frizz-causing friction.
Buns
Buns are quick and easy – keeping hair off the face and away from seawater and chlorinated pools. They also hide a lot of hair from the sun’s rays – making it much easier to spritz protective spray on the remaining strands. Twist hair before tying for a tighter topknot – or keep it boho beachy cool with a messy updo.
Bantu knots
Super cute, super sexy. Bantu knots have been traditionally worn across several cultures for hundreds of years. Simply tie your hair into two ponytails, twist tightly then wrap around into tight knots. Unravel at the end of the day for effortless beachy waves.

Comfort
At Reve de Rive we believe that comfort and style go hand in hand. You shouldn’t have to put up with bottoms that cut into your skin, tops that wear marks under your arms and itchy, irritating fabrics. Your swimwear should mould to and move with you, soft on the skin and easy, effortless to wear.
Cheaper brands often use cheap fabrics – in turn they can itch, scrape, rub and chafe. Look for added elasticity thanks to added fibres such as Lycra, and other added technology to help you feel as good as you look in your swimwear. Our bikinis actively wick away sweat and dry quickly post-swim or spa treatment for extra comfort.
Longevity and durability
You won’t just feelthe difference when you opt for a high-end bikini – you’ll seeit too. It’s quite simple really – usually when you pay a little more you get better quality – which has a variety of benefits attached to it. In the long-run you’ll spend less, since you’ll get more life out of your best-loved bikini. Well-made, good quality bikinis last longer. This doesn’t just mean that you can hold on to your swimwear for years on end (although it probably will last a while). It means colour fastness – so no fading or discolouration with every swim or wash. It means fewer incidents with wear and tear – no repairs needed, frayed edges, holes or stitching coming away at the seams. When you find a bikini you love you want to hold onto it for as long as possible. Opting for a well-made, slightly more expensive bikini also means it will hold its shape and style – so you won’t find that the cups have widened and the strings are less tight over time provided you follow care instructions closely.
A clear conscience
Sadly many high street (and even some designer) bikinis are made overseas by workers paid very low wages, living and working long hours in terrible conditions. Now more consumers are choosing to move towards ethically sourced and made products. Some even ensure that their products made locally – just like we do here Reve de Rive. Our atelier is based in Geneva - fully equipped for worldwide production without exploitation. Even as a small boutique manufacturing locally in this way enables us to maintain a much higher level of quality, produce unique designs and make garments in small batches rather than massive bulk. Good news for customers and our wonderful workers, who are treated fairly and paid properly.
Support smaller businesses for a stronger future
Many boutique bikini brands are relatively small firms run by designers and (often female) entrepreneurs with a passion for the industry and for empowering women. When you choose to support their business you in turn support their dream, helping them to create a their vision of a different kind of fashion marketplace. At Reve de Rive we are focused on beautiful swimwear that is also ethical and sustainable, made right here in Switzerland. Our founder Lauren Berteletti created Reve de Rive to occupy a niche in the market - you can learn more about our story here.
Style and shape
Lots of bikinis look great on the model – but in reality they’re only designed to fit a very small portion of the world’s female population. You’ll often find ‘one size fits all’ – or tops and bottoms that simply don’t fit together. Women’s bodies are gloriously unique – we are all different, and swimwear collections need to account for that. At Reve de Rive we focus on versatility, ensuring each of our products are designed to fit different body shapes beautifully.

Ibiza sunset
Ibiza may be known as the ultimate party isle, but she has two sides to her – with her lesser-known region rich with culture and heritage. Pretty little side streets snake through quaint pastel-coloured villages, the ocean rising in shades of bright blue creating the most stunning backdrop.
If you’re exploring Ibiza you’ll need swimwear that can keep up with you. Choose luxurious, easy to wear styles that can be dressed up or down depending on whether you’re heading out in the daytime or stepping into a beach club as the sun sets. We love Aurora, Delia and Bellezza for sunny Mediterranean escapes.
Bali beauty
Jetting off to Bali? Think boho babe vibes and easy, breezy style punctuated with frills, tassels and sexy-cute cut-out designs. This gorgeously vibrant location is a mecca for culture vultures – featuring lush jungle beside crystal clear waters and soft, sandy beaches. Picture this: the air is sweet with fragrant Frangipani blossom. Colourful temples and verdant paddy fields line winding trails that often lead to sumptuous luxury resorts and hotels. Spas.
We love Mona, Ebony, Arla and Freya for their cool, breezy, hippie vibes thanks to gentle frills, neutral tones and pretty accents.
Middle Eastern escape
Whether you’re heading off into the desert for a luxury retreat, exploring the souks of old cities or enjoying the bright lights of Dubai, the Middle East is an enchanting location. Think bold reds and bright whites – clear, sweeping lines and modest, mature, haute-couture style to take you all the way to sunset. We recommend Paige, Reign and Ziggy for this location. Understated, grown-up glamour with a hint of timeless classical design.
Luxurious spa experience
Spa days often call for long hours lounging in thermal baths, herbal showers and floating from treatment to treatment in a state of relaxation-induced bliss. There’s no place then for a bikini or swimsuit that doesn’t fit well or feel good. Maintain that relaxed, comfortable vibe all day long with super soft swimwear that fits beautifully. Our specialist fabrics dry quickly – so no need to sit in soggy swimwear for hours post-treatment. Try Marley, Mire Belle or Uma for stylish comfort. Fancy booking a sumptuous spa break to escape the winter blues? Check out our blog here covering some of Europe’s most beautiful spas both herein Switzerland and beyond.

]]>Luxuriously healthy energy truffles
Craving a sweet treat? Sugary foods are bad news for your body – most cakes, biscuits and chocolates contain huge amounts of sugar that simply can’t be processed in one go. When sugar isn’t burned off through physical activity it is stored as fat in the body. Excessive amounts of refined sugar can also cause bloating and often aggravates skin disorders including acne and eczema. But life’s way too short to deprive yourself of a treat to satisfy your sweet tooth. These truffles are packed with plant-based protein and antioxidants, made with small amounts of maple syrup in lieu of refined sugar so you can indulge without the guilt. Ingredients: 1 cup almond, cashew or peanut butter – depending on your preference and tastes. 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup. 10 pitted dates. ¼ cup raw cacao powder. 1/3 cup extras – could include a combination of chia seeds, goji berries, chopped nuts, and superfood powders such as lucuma, maca, matcha, moringa and spirulina. Method: Combine the nut butter and dates into a blender and process until smooth. Then add your seeds and fruit if using. Lastly add any powders plus the cacao and maple syrup, pulsing until perfectly combined. Roll the mixture into round truffle shapes and chill on a baking sheet until ready to eat.
Spring green salad
Greens are perhaps the most efficient way to get goodness into your body – so you can get your glow on from within. This salad incorporates no fewer than five fresh greens, each with their own health benefits. The dressing also includes apple cider vinegar, great for gut health and overall wellness. Ingredients: One handful of each: Baby spinach, spiralised courgette, sliced fennel, cucumber and kale. For the dressing: Apple cider vinegar, honey, extra virgin olive oil, one small chopped chilli, minced garlic, fresh parsley. Method: Thoroughly wash and roughly chop the greens. Set aside whilst you make the dressing – using 100ml olive oil, 1 tbsp honey and 20ml vinegar. Whisk in the herbs and spices then toss through the salad for a fresh, vibrant side that goes with everything.
Spicy turmeric latte
Turmeric is well-known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and it has been used widely for hundreds of years in India as a medicinal tonic. Turmeric lattes (or ‘golden lattes’ as they are also known) possess a host of health benefits thanks to the various spices used within them. Plant-based milk ensures good gut health and even more goodness. Ingredients: 250ml creamy plant-based milk – oat and soy work well. 2 teaspoons fresh turmeric. ½ teaspoon ginger. ½ teaspoon cinnamon. 2 tbsp pure maple syrup. Method: Add the spices and maple syrup to around 30ml of hot water. Mix well until thoroughly combined. Heat the milk gently using a microwave or coffee machine until frothy and warm, then pour slowly over the spice mixture, whisking constantly. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Baked avocado with chilli and garlic oil
Avocados are packed with healthy fats to keep skin, hair and nails looking great and feeling strong. Baked avocado offers a twist on conventional serving methods – with eggs added for protein and a zesty dressing with chilli, garlic and lime for added nutrition. Ingredients: Two avocados, peeled and pitted. Two small eggs. Two small chillies, finely chopped. One clove garlic, freshly minced. 50ml extra virgin olive oil. Coriander and black pepper (for garnish) Method: Pre-heat oven to a low to medium heat and add the avocados to a small dish, ensuring they can stay upright for the duration of cooking. Meanwhile add the chilli and garlic to the olive oil and drizzle half over the avocados. Once oven is heated, add the avocados and leave to bake for five minutes. Remove, break an egg in the centre of each, and return to the oven for another five minutes. Drizzle over the remaining oil and sprinkle on parsley and freshly cracked black pepper. Serve with your favourite salad, fish or chicken.

We love Dubai, Mexico and the Caribbean for quick and easy places to soak up some sun and recharge your batteries. Take this opportunity to rest, relax and rejuvenate – take along hair packs, face masks and plenty of gorgeous swimwear to ensure you’ll look and feel a million dollars.
With the festive season in full swing and New Year on the horizon it’s time to get your glad rags on and prepare to party. Schedule some nights out in to let your hair down – whether you fancy chilling with your friends or a night on the town. Why not turn this into a month-long pampering session – starting with the essentials such as nails, pedicure and facials? Treat yourself to a variety of holistic treatments to nourish body and mind. Glow from within, too – because when you feel good inside, you’ll look incredible on the outside. Stock up on fresh seasonal fruit and veggies and cut back on processed, salty and fatty foods. Our swimwear has been made from unique, super-soft material designed to dry more quickly – the ideal choice for ultimate comfort as you lay back and relax.
]]>Power dressing means different things to different people – back in the eighties the term embodied the wide shoulder pads and dress suits of influential men and women. Now fashion as a concept, alongside key contemporary trends such as the thong bikini and the hijab, has taken their place. In this blog we take a look at just a few of the ways power dressing has influenced feminism and the progression of women’s rights and equality.
Although some feminist groups continue to denounce fashion trends as uninspiring and devaluing, it’s hard to ignore the ways in which they have empowered women. Perhaps it’s because it’s something we come into contact with every day – maybe it’s the broad spectrum of styles and trends available to us. But the way fashion allows us to express ourselves and becomes a key part of our identity and personality. Fashion allows us to say something without speaking – to make a change without force, privilege or expense. Fashion is accessible to all – open to anyone – we all have our unique style. What we do with it and what we feel it says about who we are is up to us.
Traditionally eastern and western fashions and cultures have been viewed as poles apart – but the liberating power of creativity and cloth unites them. In the West we have moved from seeing skimpy garments as disempowering to viewing them as a statement made about our freedom, independence and sexuality. Where the focus was once firmly on how fashion has been used to define and objectify women, the emphasis now lies on how the freedom of choice fashion brings actually liberateswomen. We are free to wear whatever we want – whether we prefer to cover up or bare all. Meanwhile in the East fashions have continued to evolve – leaving religious or cultural shackles behind in favour of outfits that celebrate the individual and allow women to express themselves in a way that is both modest and inspiring. The hijab in particular has widely become a symbol of liberation when it was once exclusively seen as oppressive. There’s still a long way to go on both sides of the world – but fashion continues to carve out new ways of thinking where other methods have failed.
All over the world women are beginning to see fashion as a way to do the things they want to do, their way. Swimwear in particular has made waves in the feminist movement. On every continent swimwear has evolved – from inclusive styles designed to suit every shape to the increasingly popular burkinis that have taken the world by storm. They maylookvery different, but what they have in common is the way in which they change lives and influence how women feel.

Scarves and sarongs are the go-to beach accessory – as they’re so versatile and look incredible. So many different designs and colours are available – so it’s easy to mix and match. We love head wraps – the perfect way to protect your head and your hair from strong sun. Experiment with different turban styles to find one that suits your face shape – pile high for an indulgent, glamorous movie-star look or keep it chic and simple for understated elegance.
We love accessorising our beach looks with bold jewellery and simple yet sophisticated styles. If you love to make a statement opt for big, beaded earrings and chunky necklaces – paired with bangles for an eye-catching ensemble. If you prefer to keep things understated a simple pair of gold hoops and dainty chains around your wrists and ankles add instant style and sophistication to a daytime look. Where possible opt for good quality jewellery that won’t become tarnished or discoloured by chlorine or saltwater.
Footwear is essential on and off the beach – but you need something versatile and flexible that’ll serve you whether you’re sitting on the sand or hitting the road. Sandals and flip flops should be sturdy yet sleek – easy to wear, breathable and comfortable. Opt for pretty slinky styles that retain some substance – a good sole is key. Flip flops embellished with tassels or jewels are a great way to dress up an otherwise chilled beach ensemble.
When you need to cover up it’s simple to do it in style. Use pashminas and scarfs and wrap creatively either around the waist, as a halter-neck or as a mini-dress. Keeping it casual? Try a top or an oversized t-shirt or linen shirt for an easy breezy style.
]]>Selecting the right swimwear for your body shape is all about showing off your best bits. What do you want to emphasise? Identifying the parts of yourself you want to make the most of is the first step to choosing bikini bottoms.
High-waisted: High-waisted pants are the perfect way to focus in on a tiny waist. They effortlessly accentuate your natural curves, offering support that show off your silhouette.
Brazilian: For petite yet perfectly rounded bottoms Brazilians offer fantastic shaping and sculpting style – so you can make the most of your curves.
Tie-side: If your bum is your best (and biggest) asset tie-side bottoms are perfect for you. They’re also versatile – you choose the rise, the coverage and the overall style.
Hipster: If you have an athletic build or a slim waist hipster pants are a fantastic choice as they will accentuate your curves whilst adding shape.
We promote body confidence – and we want everyone to feel good in our swimwear! We would love to live in a world where every woman feels they have nothing to hide – but most of us have certain areas we want to draw attention away from. Take these into account as you choose your bikini bottom style.
High-waisted: Hide a multitude of sins and achieve a perkier, peachier bum with high-waisted bikini bottoms. They firm, smooth and lift for a more svelte appearance – ideal for girls who want to wear a bikini without having to bare all.
Brazilian: Want to minimise the size of your bum? Avoid Brazilian styles with fuller bottoms and instead go for a smaller, scrunched style to add shape and definition.
Tie-side: Draw attention away from a flatter bum and achieve the appearance of curves with a tie-side bikini bottom.
Hipster: Flatten and conceal love handles and muffin tops with a hipster pant – which sits just over the hips to softly smooth over the stomach.
Comfort is really important when you’re on the beach – you want to look good, but you need to feel good too! There’s nothing worse than ill-fitting bikini bottoms – whether they’re too loose and flap around when you dive in the pool, or cut in too tight as you’re trying to relax. Even when you take into account the advice above, the most crucial thing you can consider is your comfort. Try on and trial different styles to see what works best for you. Sometimes your bottom size may not match your top size – so mix and match so that your swimwear fits you perfectly.

Ebony’s wide flowing fringe lends itself perfectly to transitioning from day to night flawlessly. During the day it protects from the sun and serves as a top and cover-up – at night it becomes a pretty addition to any outfit. Team with a mini-skirt, leggings or flowing maxi-skirt to complete the look. Big boho earrings and beads also complement perfectly.
This delicate fringe crop is ideal as a cover-up by the pool or at the beach, but when you slip it on over a maxi dress or pair up with a skirt or wide linen beach pants it transforms into a beautiful boho-inspired co-ord.
Our Aurora bikini top’s structure and unique style ensures it stands out from the crowd. This makes it the perfect pick for a crop-top – ideal for clubs, beach bars and evenings out. Sweeping swathes of white fabric join bright yellow detailing for an eye-catching and feminine style. Pair with high-waisted black leggings or jeans to dress it up or down.
Swimsuit by day, bodysuit by night. Bellezza’s structured top with neck-tie detailing in gorgeous bright blue complements a range of co-ordinates – from tailored trousers to floaty wide-bottomed maxi skirts.
Enchanting Lorelei delights with its pretty pearl detailing and long fringe, reminiscent of delicate coral sparkling in the sun beneath the ocean spray. A firm favourite for winter sun-seekers – the UAE offers everything a tourist could ever want – sun, sea and sand with a generous helping of incredible activities at your fingertips. Choose between cosmopolitan Abu Dhabi and the luxurious city lights of Dubai, or enjoy a calmer, more cultured experience and rugged scenery in neighbouring Oman.
Vibrant Mexico is a fantastic place to spend the winter months. Gorgeous food, beautiful beaches and carnival culture make it a great location for partygoers and culture vultures alike. Head over to the West side to Puerto Vallarta for a quieter, more authentic experience – or opt for tourist’s favourite Cancun if you want to go clubbing from dusk til dawn.
Palm trees softly sway as reggae music drifts from a nearby bar – the spicy scent of jerk BBQ reaches you on the sea breeze. Welcome to Jamaica – where a laid-back way of life is the law. Jamaica’s hotels are ultra-luxe, with plenty of day trips allowing visitors to soak up the country’s rich culture. Walk in the footsteps of its famous son Bob Marley, or visit a hillside hemp farm where medicinal marijuana and sustainable goods are grown and made.
The Maldives has long been a bucket list location – known for its stunning white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and tiny tropical islands. Our winter runs throughout the dry season in the Maldives – meaning there’s little rain, lower humidity and a lot of bright, hot sun. If you like to keep active you can take advantage of snorkelling trips to take in the beautiful coral reefs and fascinating sea life – but if you prefer to chill most hotels offer specialist spa facilities.
Vibrant, vivacious and breathtakingly beautiful – Thailand’s soft sandy beaches and thick green jungles have attracted tourists for years now. Krabi and Koh Samui offer a more cosmopolitan and cultured view into Thai life compared with touristy Phuket. Sample traditional Thai massage and a variety of delicious local dishes, made using local produce and aromatic spices for a true treat for the senses. If you have time, you must visit the island of Koh Phi Phi, where ‘The Beach’ was filmed – and bustling Bangkok.
Are your days feeling a little grey at the moment? Snaking souks and divine desert vistas can be yours with a trip to gorgeous Morocco – a vibrant and exotic country rich with colourful culture. Explore the famous markets of Marrakech, escape to the secluded Atlas Mountains or hit the beach in Agadir. Try a traditional Hammam for an invigorating scrub-down before being enveloped in luscious, beautifully scented natural oils. Temperatures remain at a balmy 16-20 degrees on average throughout November and December – ideal if you like it hot, but not Dubai hot.

Fringed styles are right on-trend this season – think hippy vibes, Coachella festival feels and laid-back luxury. Fringes draw the eye instantly – adding interest but also deflecting attention from any areas you feel self-conscious about. We love the wide, extravagant ruffles of Ebony and the delicate frills of Mona.
White is a classic colour for swimwear, Dark colours are always flattering – but this trend takes them to a new level, diversifying from black and grey to deep juicy plum, dark green and burnt orange. In contrast bright whites and pale cream hues stand out beautifully against freshly bronzed skin.
Skimpy string bikinis have their place – but this trend is all about open styles with larger swathes of fabric to catch the breeze beautifully and serve as day-to-night pieces that can easily be paired with harem pants or a floaty maxi-skirt. We love Mona – a long-line bikini top that works perfectly as a day-time and night-time look.
Organic tones are all in this season – inspired by nature, warm and raw. This includes khaki, cream, turquoise and sunshine yellow. These colours are particularly flattering on any skin-tone and look even better as you get a warm, golden tan. Textures imitating crinkled leaves, fluffy clouds and soft petals complement perfectly.
Once upon a time swimwear asked us to compromise – between comfort and style. Now things have changed – and innovative new-generation fabrics have revolutionised swimwear. We no longer have to put up with endlessly damp bottoms that never dry, string bikinis that cut in and rub as you sit in the sun and tops that never quite fit (and lack in support). At Reve de Rive we are continuously improving our ranges, using cutting-edge textiles for soft, wearable styles.

Have you noticed that bigger models are often dressed in full swimsuits - not a cheeky bikini bottom or string top in sight? Sadly many women who are unhappy with their bodies avoid certain styles in an effort to cover up their ‘bad bits’. The problem with this is that the ‘perfect body’ simply doesn’t exist. What’s so terrible about a roll of fat, or cellulite? If you’re still not convinced, consider that skimpier swimwear can often have a slimming effect.
"I used to avoid cut-outs there because I have cellulite, but who cares?," gorgeous plus-size model Ashley Graham told Glamour. "Companies think that bigger girls won’t buy a string bikini because it's skimpy. I actually prefer them because they're adjustable—I have thick thighs and hips and it keeps a suit from digging in to my hips." Flaunt your ‘flaws’ and embrace your figure – you’re beautiful!

A thousand times no to this one. We can see where it comes from though…many women don’t dress for their unique shape, or feel that they must make a compromise between comfort and style when wearing swimwear. This simply isn’t true. Good quality swimwear is made using breathable, soft fabrics – designed to fit your curves perfectly without rubbing your skin or cutting in. They incorporate chest support to ease aching backs and most important are practical when swimming. Experts say the best way to test a new swimsuit is to jump right in. If it comes off, comes apart, rubs or doesn’t support you properly, it’s not a right fit for you. And you don’t have to put up with it!
In contrast to the issue of beautiful plus-size models rarely being featured in string bikinis, you’ll rarely see gorgeous, younger models in full swimsuits. Their sexiness has seemingly been resigned to the eighties in fashion circles – but in reality this is utter nonsense. Many young women rock the one-piece – a universal wardrobe staple that’s versatile and beautiful. One-piece swimsuits are also practical – offering greater sun protection that’s perfect for long days spent swimming.

Beautifully bronzed gold tones and the beach have always been a match made in heaven – so it’s difficult to go wrong with the Golden Goddess vibe. Choose tan, gold, bronze and rust tones – bikinis work best. For a cute contrast try white or cream – it sets of bronzed skin beautifully. Lather on shimmering golden body oil all over for luxurious lustre. Gold accessories and bangles are a must – more is more, so layer up for a truly goddess-like feel.
Think eco-warrior crossed with Aztec queen - fierce tribal prints and vibrant colours, tassels, cut-outs and earthy textures. This look is easy and breezy yet super-sexy – guaranteed to turn heads. To achieve this look start by picking out a top with substance, incorporating cut-out patterns and hippy-style embellishments. We love Crop, with its floral motifs and dainty lace design in heavenly white. This can also be layered on top of a separate bikini for a cool daytime look. Opt for sand, grey, khaki and rust-red tones. Always accessorise with gold or rose gold jewellery – fine chains tipped with shimmering crystals and glittering charms.
Fierce and fine, the Riviera Princess look is unapologetically luxe – oozing opulence with bold classic colours and rich detailing. Imagine Grace Kelly soaking up the sun on her vast terrace in Monaco – sipping martinis and reading Vogue. Choose between bright pinks, royal blues and reds if you love a colour pop – or black and white. Strong shapes are key here – so choose a swimsuit or bikini set that shows off your silhouette whilst also providing modest, classy coverage. We love Marley and Ziggy – featuring swathes of luxe fabric to wrap your body beautifully. Pair with huge sunnies and a wide-rimmed straw hat to complete the look.

Black Shoes on a Platform
Footwear is just as important for a complete outfit when you prepare to go to a beach party. Ladies should consider wearing shoes on a platform, as they are very beneficial for a successful look as well as extremely comfortable to dance in.
]]>Movie industry was and is still considered one of the biggest influences on the swimwear trend development. Today, we would like to tell you about several films which brought attention to the swimwear models that ladies still admire today.
1952 Manina, the Girl in the Bikini
Manina was the first movie role for a 17- year old Brigitte Bardot. The movie appeared to have controversial reputation due to the young age of the actress and for the scanty bikinis worn by the Bardot in the film. At the time the movie was produced bikini was still widely considered immodest, so
Manina, the Girl in the Bikini is the first occasions when a bikini had appeared in the film.
With a title like The Girl in the Bikini, young and beautiful Brigitte Bardot gained immediate fame and managed to make the once-immodest bikini a rising swimwear trend.
1962 Dr. No
The white bikini of Ursula Andress is known from the appearance in the movie Dr No. It was a white bikini worn by Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder in the 1962 James Bond film. It is considered one of the most famous bikinis of all time.
Andress's white bikini changed the whole swimwear industry as, after the release of Dr. No, the sales of the two-piece bikinis rocketed.
The lower part of the bikini features a wide white British Army belt with brass buckles and fittings, and a scabbard on the left side to hold a large knife.
1995 Baywatch
The female stars of Baywatch wore the high wasted red one-piece swimsuit, which became extremely popular along with the show itself.
Fun fact: The legendary red swimsuit was designed to look exactly like the swimsuits worn by real-life California beach lifeguards.
“It's become an iconic piece of clothing, copied by numerous swimwear lines, written about in fashion bibles like Glamour, outfitted on an official Barbie doll.”
